tl;dr - Clan Vrek is a Yakuza family that retains legacy traditions from its days as a lineage of Assassins and from prior to there ever being a Hingan identity. Credence is still paid to these facets of its identity despite over 1,500 years of evolution having ultimately been lost with the family nearly being wiped out, with its sole survivor having to rebuild this legacy from scratch whilst surrounded by both uncertainty and enemies on all sides in a broader, changing world.

Backstory

Whilst Eorzeans often assess the Yakuza as just the Far Eastern contemporaries to their own criminal organisations, this is often a misunderstood comparison to make, as to become part of a Yakuza is to devote yourself into membership with a new 'found' family that forges bonds firmly with what it means to be Hingan. The specifics of this will vary from family to family, but a common theme that's often found is the principle of complete loyalty to one's own family, in addition to codes-of-conduct when presenting one's self to the world in any capacity. Often, it can seem like the Yakuza have turned over a new leaf to start doing good, and perhaps there may be some truth to this that can be found. But, this has never been the case for Clan Vrek.As a family whose lineage traces back to before there was ever a ‘Hingan' identity, Clan Vrek had originally gained significance as highly prolific Assassins during the Age of Blood before the subsequent stratification of Hingan society under the Bafuku turned this prominance into punishment. Whilst the reason for this has since been lost to history, the effects remain even to the current day - The Vrek family's former recognition as Assassins from Hell became lost lore within the family itself, its demotion to merchants in a strict caste society eliminated all of its former gains, and as a minority group within a newly-developed nation of a singular sense of identity, they were further pushed to the outskirts of society as a whole and left to struggle. And, struggle they did, as most of the past 900 years of subsequent history would be spent in a state of limbo between what the family once was, and what the family has since been made to become. After all, highly-prolific Assassins don't just simply give up their craft just because they were told to; They'll instead use that craft in service to whoever's willing to pay for it, only to recoil from each subsequent run-in with the Shogunate's Samurai class, or even the newer Sekiseigumi organisation. Until, finally, any notions of their Assassin heritage would be made unto rumour and speculation about a lost piece of family history. At least, such was the intent behind the family's decision to openly embrace its place as merchants in this Hingan society. In truth, whilst the Vrek family hadn't been left better off from each of these encounters, there was a reinvigorated sense of purpose born from these struggles, one born solely from a deep desire to seek vengeance against Clan Mitsurugi for all that they've done. So, whilst the Vrek family 'integrated' into society as humble merchants that sought no trouble, their skillsets as a lineage of Assassins would be twisted into use against their more imminent threats, especially once the family's merchant role in society opened up an unexpected amount of opportunities with using shadier avenues to accomplish whatever they sought to do. Ultimately, they weren't the first to do it, but they would eventually evolve into a Yakuza in order to persue vengeance. And, this desire for vengeance never went away; Not as the Vrek family found an unexpected degree of fortune as a ruthless presence in Hingashi's underbelly, not as their heritage as the lineage of Hell's Assassins twisted their use of dark magicks into becoming ever-increasingly vile and dangerous, and especially not as their own Age of Peace finally came in the form of the local Shogun granting the family honourary titles as minor nobility. A countryside Villa, an understanding with the Shogun to contend with their mutual rivals, and countless years where the family as a whole hadn't become the target of a purge by the Bafuku; All of it was only the beginning as far as the Vrek family was concerned, and if funding insurrectionist movements wasn't enough, then perhaps making deals with Ijin factions abroad may yet serve their ends. When it comes down to it, perhaps this all-consuming desire for vengeance is what ultimately wiped out Clan Vrek as it was. Whether that be due to negligence with the world around them as it changed and evolved, their own ambition corrupting their original goals with an insatiable and unattainable ultimatum, or just simply the whims of fate as they may turn, the Vrek family would be left entirely unprepared for the conspiracy that organised to attack all their holdings simultaneously, most notably their secluded Villa where its blood lineage all reside. All, except their eldest heir apparent - Nitall Vrek - of whom happened to be elsewhere and safe from the ensuing devastation. When the dust settled, over 1,500 years of heritage would finally be lost.

Until now. With several years having passed since this fateful incident, the last of the original Vrek family lineage has thrown her all into rebuilding this heritage that she's lost, and whilst it remains to be seen how the original conspirators may yet react upon discovering the family's resurgence within Hingashi itself, this reforged Clan Vrek has nonetheless presumed to act in its own form of vengeance with how it has aggressively expanded against rivals both new and old. Such would be the current state of the ongoing story as it relates to this history, as whilst Clan Vrek has made moves to re-establish itself within Hingashi, it has also taken to forging a new tale within various other regions around the Star. What comes of it all is a story yet told.

Holdings

As a testament to the current reach of Clan Vrek, the family owns numerous holdings located all around both Eorzea and Hingashi, with legitimately-acquired ships helping to move goods around to each side of the world to keep its growing ventures chugging along. Each holding has a location tied to its existence, either in the form of an address, or just as an event-based setting, with a brief summary of their lore also being listed down below:

Holdings - Eorzea

Vrek-Inn-House - An Ul'dah-based holding that formerly served as the base-of-operations of a rival Yakuza Clan, the Vrek family has since repurposed the estate to serve as its own main base-of-operations for all of its operations within Eorzea, with its purpose as a legitimate Inn partly intended to better facilitate the more nefarious activities and production operations that go on behind its closed doors. It's mostly just a basic Inn. Address: Goblet, Ward 3 Plot 41Shrouded-Inn-House - A Shroud-based holding that serves as a secondary production hub for the Vrek family's product components, this simple residence takes advantage of the local geography in order to set up a large-scale growing facility for the plants and fungi required in the refinement process of various drugs, in addition to setting up its own small-scale alchemy lab for the purposes of specialised production. Address: Lavender Beds, Ward 28 Plot 48Draconian-Inn-House - An Ishgard-based holding that formerly served as the residence to a minor Ishgardian noble family, the Vrek family's forceful acquisition of this estate has largely been left to languish as initial plans to turn it into a large-scale alchemy lab have been mirred by setbacks. These have mostly come in the form of the estate's secluded location preventing goods being easily moved in and out of its grounds. Address: Empyreum, Ward 27 Plot 48Misty-Inn-House - A La Noscean-based holding that serves as the operational centre of the Corvid Consortium, this innocuous company with no official ties to the Vrek family serves a poingant function as an information gatherer's hub, one that can readily move around without drawing attention to itself in order to fulfill whatever task may be required of it, or to otherwise fulfill contracts tasked by other clients that may arise. Address: The Mists, Ward 21 Plot 29Market Stands - A simple set of market stands located in all of Eorzea's major cities, this set of unincoporated but no less useful shopstalls all serve as a handy front to discretely sell illicit goods and to gather information in one go, both under the auspices of simply selling various 'exotic goods' with fanciful branding and even more fanciful price tags. Event-Only Location

Holdings - Hingashi

Vrek-Out-House - A Kugane-based holding that once hosted an upstart criminal gang, it has since been converted into a contemporary establishment to that of the Vrek-Inn-House, even if its function is much more expressly illicit in nature with its front as a brothel and its back as a secluded warehouse. Despite that, it still retains a lesser function as an Inn with facilities to serve this purpose, with it mostly intended for those needing to avoid the attention of the law.
Event-Only Location, but actively re-uses assets from the Vrek-Inn-House to this end.
The Ishiku Teahouse - A family-run business located within the Red-Light District of Kugane itself, the Ishiku teahouse is a simple establishment that - By itself - offers no illicit services to speak of. Instead, its location within a basement space along a canal makes it an ideal locale in order to facilitate illicit business dealings within its walls, with the lack of Sekiseigumi taking notice instead drawing the attention of the Vrek family to the ongoings. Event-Only LocationThe Three Springs Teahouse - Located in the urban outskirts of Kugane itself, this humble establishment once served as the residence to an up-and-coming Yakuza Clan before it was violently wiped out. It has since been repurposed as a hybrid hot springs and teahouse under the premise of simply offering the inner city's luxuries to those living in the outskirts, though it begs asking why an illicit basement can oft be heard. Address: Shirogane, Ward 5 Plot 29The Silk Bunny Brothel - A slave trader's business front located within the Red-Light District of Kugane itself, the Vrek family has since coerced its former owners into surrendering these efforts in favour of having new management handle the ongoing operations. After all, a valued business model deserves to be better incorporated into a family that can properly run its state of affairs, especially when they already have a supply network set up. Event-Only LocationLast Night Inn - A small family-run establishment that offers well-cooked meals for its casual visitors and luxurious facilities for its lurid tourists, this otherwise-unremarkable establishment can be found only a day's journey up the Kugane Ohashi into a backwater trading hub called Kawa-zoi, where the most notable sight to behold is that of the loose lips uttering the ongoing status of fellow criminal enterprises all across Shishu Island within the walls of this seemingly humble establishment. It would be a shame if someone were listening! Event-Only LocationShipping Warehouse - A simple shipping warehouse located upon one of Kugane's piers in the Red-Light District itself, this unambiguous storage space for goods both legal and not had previously served to facilitate trade between Eorzea and Hingashi via a La Noscean shipping company's humble efforts. That was, until secret backroom dealings and implications of black mail assured that its small, independent operations would be no more. Event-Only Location

Holdings - Miscellaneous

Taishi Village - A small farming village located closeby to the One River within Yanxia itself, it barely even registers as an indent on official Doman maps of the area, to say nothing of how its governance by Doma remains virtually non-existent. Due to this, the Vrek family has since informally usurped control of the village to serve its own ends instead, most notably for which has been to fuel the family's Doman slave trade across the continents. Event-Only LocationKobayashi Maru - An obsolete Atakebune-class warship that once served the Bafuku, it has since been stripped of its former weaponry and instead been refitted to ferry goods across a vast ocean that separates Hingashi from Eorzea. Compared to Western alternatives, it's slow and cumbersome against anything less gentle than stilled waters, but with a salvaged Magitek engine providing its power, it nonetheless serves as a reliable workhorse for the Vrek family's ongoing requirements - Including those that require a warship after all. Event-Only LocationFukushu Maru - An obsolete Sekibune-class warship that once served the Bafuku, it's since been stripped of its former weaponry and has instead been refitted to ferry goods across the waters of the Ruby Sea that separates Hingashi from Othard as a whole. Essentially a lighter, smaller sibling to the Kobayashi Maru, what the Fukushu Maru lacks in cargo capacity and ocean sailing potential is instead made up for with its speed and nimbleness alike, something that it needs in order to avoid the attention of the Confederacy's tithes. Western Kami's Drink (WKD)

A bubbly, lightly-alcoholic beverege of only 5% alcoholic volume, WKD is a lightweight drink that's just as refreshing as it is tasteful, as the vibrant colours that distinguishes each serving corresponds to an equally-strong fruity flavour that does much to conceal its alcoholic nature. This is a casual drink primarily aimed at both casual drinkers and fans of fruity flavours alike, and in keeping with this intention, this is a drink that's easy to consume regardless of whether it's warm or cold, as the professional equipment used to brew this beverege is the very same that's used to brew healing potions and energing elixirs alike for the common adventurer and mercenary alike, which surely makes it a healing, soothing potion in its own right... Right?!Of course, this strong, fruity flavour can be diluted in other substances without tarnishing the desired taste to it, such as watering it down to make it much more friendly as a refresher for the more avid drinkers. Likewise, it can easily conceal most drugs that it might be spiked with at any given time, such as if small amounts of Ketracine or Somnus are added to grant it an addicting touch to its refreshing nature. Finally, this is a beverege that can be prepared in a variety of ways, such as making it an additive to icecream or a smoothie, outright mixing an iced slushie together with it, or anything else in these veins. And, wouldn't you know it? Such products just so happen to be popular in large parts of the civilised world! How convenient.Note: By default, this product is sold as plain bottles of various sizes, with each 100ml going for a rate of 300 Gil regardless of the size. Specialty variants (i.e. Slushies) should increase this price up to 500 Gil per 100ml instead. Regardless of the medium, servings with doses of Ketracine in them should be marked with a discrete indicator to avoid unintended mishaps.

Ketracine White (Charity Flour)

A highly addicting substance that's normally produced as a liquid-form drug and packaged as a powdery-medium, Ketracine White is a fungus-derived narcotic that largely resembles Somnus with many of its properties, including how it can be ingested in a multitude of ways, how it's highly potent and addicting, and in its concentrated form, how even a few Onzes can cause an overdose and kill its user outright. However, unlike Somnus, Ketracine offers very little side effects beyond its numbing / paralyzing agents whilst being much easier to produce on scale for a relatively inexpensive price, making its pure form useful mostly for medical and killing purposes whilst being virtually worthless as a drug for any other use, at least by itself. As long as Ketracine's acrid and pungant properties are masked, it can be used as a highly effective additive to the effects that other drugs have, such as making Somnus' psychoactive effects much more potent whilst requiring less of the drug itself. Of course, this makes a user much more susceptible to an overdose for the same amount of drug being ingested, but what does that matter when its cost-savings are quite significant? Likewise, due to its highly potent nature, the pure drug can be used to force a rapid addiction on any unsuspecting non-users that ingest even a tiny amount of it, such as if the drug were to be heavily dilluted into flour to then be distributed for the most destitute in society, only to then exploit this addiction to extort the afflicted for everything that they have or otherwise are. Hence its irony as Charity Flour.Note: Whilst Charity Flour is often not sold in any capacity, it can be sold for as minimal as 50 Gil per Ponze in order to turn a profit. Likewise, pure Ketracine is also often not sold by itself, but it can be for as low as 20,000 Gil per 100ml in order to turn a profit. Instead, profit is made by reselling existing drugs (i.e. Somnus) for a small markup and a lot of deception.

Aetherostasis Gem (Soul Orbs)

An innocuous-looking glass-like sphere that's virtually weightless to the touch and features an oddly vivid monocolour pattern confined within itself, Aetherostasis Gems - Better known as Soul Orbs - are the products of dangerous and obscure Dark Magicks that could apparently trace their origins back to the Mhachi and their use of Voidsent. Regardless of whether there is truth to the matter or not, it's nonetheless an oddly-befitting demonstration of the drug itself, as unlike other psychoactive drugs, what Soul Orbs lack for physically-addicting properties, they instead make up for with soul-altering ones, specifically by feeding its user the Soul that is trapped within an Orb in what's effectively a mortal version of a Voidsent's feeding process. This process is what causes the drug's psychoactive effects to occur, as the memories taken from the trapped Soul will reapply the sensations felt during this soul extraction (Read: Death) process that are required to make this drug. This can be tailored to be as vivid or as tame as the user wants when custom-ordering an Orb, but either way, these sensations always pair to the more consistent Dreamweed-esque afflictions that will also occur. As this drug cannot be made with non-sapient entities (i.e. Most creatures, all plants, etc), it can't be mass produced and must instead be reserved as a specialty product only for the highest bidders. However, it can be either directly ingested or 'popped' to form a breathable aerosol for groups to partake, making it a highly-desirable drug for hedonists of all types to be able to indulge into its fullest.Note: Whilst a standard Soul Orb sells with a price tag of 55,000 Gil per Orb, custom-made variants will significantly increase this price, especially should it also involve contracting a hit against a particular person to create this drug. Without the external fees, special variants can go for as high as 220,000 Gil per Orb. Soul Orbs are canonically similar to Soul Crystals.

Vasokin Pink (Swinger's Dream)

A highly potent drug that serves as both an aphrodesiac and a hallucinogenic, Vasokin Pink is an extract drug that's derived from a specific type of mushroom that's native to the Shroud. Whilst its psychological effects can vary from person to person, its physical effects are more consistently centred on how it increases a person's heart-rate dramatically whilst maintaining a long-lasting arousal, with a notable side-effect being how it numbs muscles and limbs alike. This seemingly-innocuous nature to the drug is what's earned it the more common nickname of Swinger's Dream, as its use in both courtesan work and casual affairs is often to die for. And, 'to die for' is apt, for whilst its natural fungi form is typically not a potent drug, its refined form as a pink-ish powder - Not unlike Somnus - can significantly increase this potency to a point where even a single ingestion can induce total paralysis to a temporary or a permenant extent, a forcibly-induced coma for the short to medium term, and in the most extreme cases, death by heart attack or heart failure. Suffice to say, the Vrek family often levereges this fact in its applications of discretely assassinating targets and enforcing enslaved courtsans into a vicious addiction cycle, both under innocuous guises that are as simple as offering a drink.Note: Only the refined version of Swinger's Dream is sold, and typically only in a packaged format such as a smokable vice. However, for the purposes of illustrating its selling price, the pure powdery format typically goes for a rate of 8,000 Gil per Onze. Assume that this rate is also true for its packaged formats for the sake of simplicity. Unique variants double this price.

Tesokin Blue (Mage Sight)

A semi-synthetic compound-drug that serves as both a potent stimulant and a hallucinogenic, Tesokin Blue is comprised of an already-existing drug - Blackroot Rose - being ground up and mixed together with naturally-occurring Water Crystals through a process of resynthesis. By itself, Blackroot Rose is an already-potent hallucinogenic that induces a violent streak of psychosis, but when it goes through this resynthesis process with these Aetherically-charged crystals, the ensuing psychosis induces a heightened - And often uncontrollable - degree of Aether-attunement in the user that, among other effects, forces the use of their regular sight to be completely overwitten by a naturally-induced Aethersight for as long as the drug lasts.Between this use of Aethersight, and the often-reported side-effect of spellcasting becoming temporary more potent, proponents of this drug often take to calling it Mage Sight to highlight its benefits for the vast majority of magick users. However, this conveniently overlooks how it still induces a violent psychosis in the user, and how its hallucinogenic properties render this use of Aethersight to be dubious in its value at the best of times. Plus, the augmented spells usage isn't derived from additional Aether being given - It's derived from the user's own limits being removed, making most forms of spellcasting dangerous to the user's own health should they attempt to do it. In this sense, Mage Sight is essentially an Aethercharged form of LSD, one just as favoured by Mages looking for shortcuts as it is by non-Mages looking for 'power'.Note: This drug is often produced as sheets of glass-like crystal, which often prompts it to be called Crystal Blue by those that don't use any other products of that name. Typically these sheets are then broken down into smaller shards or as a powder, either of which is sold at a rate of 11,500 Gil per Onze, which can then be directly ingested or otherwise smoked as-is.

Legitimate Roleplay Hooks

The Vrek-Inn-House - As a well-maintained and humble Hingan establishment located within the outskirts of Ul'dah's residential districts, the Vrek-Inn-House offers plenty of spare rooms for whatever short-term or long-term needs that you may have of it, in addition to a variety of facilities that can be freely utilised should you wish to, including an Onsen, a Library, a Dojo, and plenty of others. All you need to do is inquire the receptionist at the front desk for more!Inn Service of Health & Care - This well-equipped establishment doesn't just offer rooms to stay in and facilities to indulge; It also offers an on-site Infirmary to tend to one's medical and wellbeing needs alike, in addition to a variety of healthcare-focused products to further see to one's more particular requirements, including potions / antidotes of various forms, healthcare products ranging from relaxing to stimulating, and much more! *Products sold separately.Inn Supply of Charity - Clearly, running an Inn is an extremely profitable venture (Despite a lack of foot traffic...?), and in exemplifying this fact, the Inn will sometimes make donations to the city's poorest peoples in the form of offering both pre-cooked meals and their ingredients for all those that need / want them. This namely comes in the form of a dedicated stockpile of Charity Flour and the various baked goods that it's used for, so come and freely have a taste!Inn Quest of Leves - For those at the Inn who might be more inclined towards doing good in the form of outgoing jobs, there's also an ongoing initiative to have the more capable workers occassionally get together to tackle various Levequests that are on offer with the Adventurer's Guild. After all, it's a paid opportunity to help those in need and to refine one's skillsets in the same bout of effort, and it's good publicity for those that are more inclined to it. It's a win-win!Inn Protective Care - Whether it's a simple victim of abuse / exploitation, an escapee of dire cirumstances in whatever form it takes, or anything else to those effects, the Inn has a policy to extend a helping hand to those in immediate need, with a brief assessment of the situation required simply to confirm how any assistance should be given. Don't mind that the questions are somewhat invasive and personalised - It's not like a profile is being built on you, promise!Inn Service to Family - Acceptance into the Vrek family is considered to be a serious affair, especially for those who can take the family name as their own in whatever capacity. As part of this, family members gain permenant residence within the Vrek-Inn-House, as well as set access to the family's finances and internal decision making alike, making the humble Inn the centre for Clan Vrek's wider activities across the continent. Leaving? Why would you ever~?Inn Opening Employment - If yours is a simple requirement to find gainful employment - Be you a mercenary wishing for stable work, an alchemist of any proficiency, or otherwise - you will find no shortage of opening positions to choose from should you wish to inquire within the Inn. The pay may leave something to be desired, but the free access to rooms and facilities alike should make up for it in what's clearly not some sort of Company House scheme, right?

Illegitimate Roleplay Hooks

The Vrek-Out-House - As a seclusive and unassuming Hingan establishment located within the confines of Kugane's Red-Light District, the Vrek-Out-House serves a multi-faceted role as both a brothel and a warehouse that's more readily open for clientele to peruse, especially for its more nefarious products of both a pleasurable and an addicting nature alike. Its similar design to the Vrek-Inn-House includes a similar standard with the facilities and rooms that it offers, even if these are intended to dampen the exploitative nature of the goods on display.Out For A Killing - Be the means blade, bow, or poison, and be it a slow or fast execution, it goes without saying that a family lineage professionalised in taking life will have the means to ensure that it happens regardless of who the target is and what difficulties might be involved. Sometimes a paid contract warrants the effort, sometimes a threat just needs to be tended to, and sometimes it's just about sending a message. Is yours a target, a contractor, a victim, or someone looking to try and stop this odd mix of skillful Assassins at work? You get to decide!Outgoing Merchants - As an officially-recognised merchant family within Hingan society, as well as a family with minor nobility status within the wider Far Eastern region, the Vrek family is one that lacks for difficulty when it comes to moving goods about through both Hingan and Doman ports / towns. This unfettered market access into all corners of Othard is one that can be reliably depended upon to move products of all kinds without concern for its discovery, for you see, Hingan society expects as much to be enforced in law. And thus it shall be... Right?Out And Doman-ated - With most of Othard still reeling from the consequences of the harsh Garlean occupation, and the re-emergent Doman government still lacking for control over the vast borders of Yanxia as a whole, its peoples remain vulnerable to the lesser threats of daily life whisking them away from the world without a trace. Not all at once obviously, rather it'd be individuals or even small groups at a time, ones that are perhaps located in far-off towns and villages that won't pay mind to any reappearances that occur half-a-world over. Surely not~!Outsourced Company - Operating under Clan Vrek's control is a number of companies that each burden a facet of the wider family's operations across the world, most of which haven't been officially recognised despite clearly falling in line for such a purpose. This ranges from a Shipping Company that takes direct routes between Eorzea and Othard, to a Sake Brewery in Hingashi that brews more than just what it was intended for, to a simple teahouse or brothel in Kugane's Red-Light District that offers more than what's advertised. Where does it all end?Outstocked Surplus - From its more innocuous medical and healthcare products, to its less subtle offering of slaves and drugs, the Vrek family is one that keeps a large variety of goods on hand and ready-to-go at any given time. Where is it all stored? Where does it all go? How have they avoided detection? How would they respond if they got found out? And, what would be their response to rivals encroaching on their turf? One thing's for sure; If yours has never even heard of the Clan Vrek name associated with such products, that's surely a good thing.Out of Bounds - Hold up, if this is meant to be a merchant family within Hingan society, how can they also be a noble family that owns property? In fact, how can they be so rich despite clearly going against the principles set by the Shogunate during its founding 900 years a go? Surely it has nothing to do with an unfettered level of corruption in every level of society, one that this family is simply exploiting to the fullest to get its way in the most blatant way possible, right? Well, they wouldn't be the only ones doing it, so the real question is 'what can you do'?

And More! - Suffice to say, Clan Vrek is a highly-developed entity within the setting, one that has seen quite a few developments and changes alike since its inception under the authority of its family Matriarch Nitall Vrek. As such, this Carrd can only do so much to summarise the highlights of the various Roleplay opportunities on offer, so treat the listed hooks as examples of what to expect should you wish to engage with any level of it. If you have an idea for a new hook, or you wish to collaberate plotpoints between groups, please do feel free to reach out!

Out-of-Character

Hey there! Thanks for checking out our Carrd! This Free Company can be found on Crystal - Mateus, we're a casual Roleplay-oriented guild with a mix of optional non-Roleplay activities to participate in, and we operate on an open schedule centred on the BST / EST timezones.Clan Vrek is not intended to be a serious Roleplay Guild effort open for casuals / randoms to join in. Instead, we're a closed group of friends that strongly favour partaking in story-driven shenanigans over anything else, and we'll only consider adding new members to the ongoing plotlines should they happen to match our chemistry and interests alike. To that end, the main highlights of Clan Vrek's story simply serves as an extension to those proffered by Nitall Vrek, so please ensure to check out her Carrd before reading onwards if you'd wish to learn more! And, in case it begs stating, we are openly-accepting of whoever you may be OOCly, as long as you're likewise openly-accepting of others and can oblige by some basic groundrules with Roleplay etiquette. This especially includes avoiding Metagamers and toxic Roleplayers alike. If this sounds like your thing, please do reach out either In-Game or on Discord to Perpetis.

The In-Character Clan Vrek itself is a Lawful Evil Yakuza family with both Assassin & Dark Magick undertones used for its daily operations. These are neither misunderstood quirks, nor is this a family of anti-heroes. Instead, this is a group with interests both legitimate and illegitimate that takes explicit, knowing decisions - Both good and evil - in order to maintain as part of the family's ongoing objectives. The broader Roleplay themes that are explored should thus be taken as guidelines for what's most likely to come up, with the list going as follows:

  • An overarching focus on storytelling whilst mixing planned and impromptu plot beats.

  • A larger emphasis on Dark / Mature themes alongside Combat / Criminal / Magicks.

  • A lesser emphasis on Casual / Slice-of-Life / Adventuring themes, where warranted.

  • In-Game Roleplay alongside a Discord server to communicate / keep track of things.

  • Optional requirement to join either the IC family or the OOC guild. This ain't a worry!

I'd list more, but it should be reasonably apparent if we're going to get along or not from any ensuing OOC chatter / probative Roleplaying that occurs, so just treat that list as the guideline that it is and we'll see if things stick. Either way, thanks again for checking out our Carrd!
